- Are you looking for a quick, easy, and convenient food sensitivity test in Charlotte, NC?
A food allergy involves a dramatic toxic response from the body due to exposure to certain foods. It is an immediate, robust, and (usually) permanent response that can be mild or even deadly. Food allergies are typically discovered in childhood, with a few exceptions, and rarely involves foods that are tolerable.
A FOOD SENSITIVITY, on the other hand, involves foods that can be tolerated and this is one of the hints to distinguish an allergy from a sensitivity. Although the food can be ingested, the body still creates an inflammatory response. This reaction, however, can occur several days later and can be overlooked as a result.
We test for the most common foods sensitivities including wheat, soy, lactose and dairy, nuts, and eggs plus many more
Our in-office test is SIMPLE, QUICK, and CONVENIENT. There are no blood draws or skin pricks. The test takes less than 5 minutes and involves only a finger stick to obtain a blood sample. This sample is then sent to a specialty lab for processing. In approximately 2 weeks the lab results are returned and you are 1 step closer to ideal health and wellness!
At the time of the visit, each patient will receive a Patient Guide explaining how to interpret test results and how to follow the rotation and elimination diets necessary to treat the uncovered food sensitivities. This guide will help you personalize your nutrition going forward. Each patient has the choice to follow recommendations on their own using the Patient Guide or schedule an in-office (or virtual) follow-up visit with the doctor for more extensive 1-on-1 assistance.
Optional follow-up visits are not included in the price of the food sensitivity test.
